Resistance seam welding
Seam welding is a method of connecting, in which the metal parts of the link is formed by a number of spot welds formed in the liquid state, arranged side by side along a specified line by using a welding wheel which lead electricity and exert pressure welding.
Depending on the kinetics of the electrodes movement, the pulse current waveform and its duration, linear resistance welding can be divided into:
- constant - disk-shaped electrodes are driven at a constant speed and the welding current flows through the electrodes and the connector continuously at a constant clamping force than welding . In this way, the seal is formed as one continuous seam
- intermittent - electrode ± cutters rotate at a constant speed and the welding current flows at regular intervals
- jumping - includes electrodes rotary motion stepper wheel which are retained for the duration of current flow , and rotate by a predetermined pitch during an interruption of flow
RESISTANCE SEAM WELDING PARAMETERS:
- current in kA (AC and DC)
- siła docisku w kN
- KN clamping force - the welding speed in mm / min
- welding current flow time in sec
- time break in the flow of current in the s
- work dimensions and type of material in the electrodes
APPLICATION:
Seam welding is used mainly where you should get tight connections, leak fuel tanks, household appliances, cars, carriages. The process is not suitable for connecting thick metal sheets.
